Altenew Educator Certification Program: All About Layering 4

Welcome to my Crafty Corner.

Today I am sharing cards I created for Altenew Academy's class "All All About Layering 4" class, offered by Lydia Evans.  

In the class, Lydia demonstrated many ways to add interest to our cards.

I stamped and die cut so many elements for the first class (All About Layering 3) that I had enough to create three additional cards.  I created the cards using the leftover elements from the prior class.  

Here are the cards I am presenting today. The stepped up backgrounds are the focus for today's cards.

I cut two panels (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) of navy blue cardstock. I adhered one panel to the card base. I die cut the second panel with the  Altenew Garden Trellis Cover Die and glued to the first panel. I added the Vintage Rose Stamped elements, clear gems and sentiment.  The sentiment is die cut with the brushed gold cardstock. The outline is Vellum.

I cut two A2 (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) size panels from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and embossed them with the Deck Planks 3D Embossing Folder.  To create the look of wood, I used the direct to paper ink swiping technique on both card panels. Set one panel aside to use on the third card and adhered the wood grain panel to the A2 card base. 

Added florals, leaves and sparkles and the sentiment. Splattered gold paint on the card to additional texture and interest.

I started with the woodgrain panel from card #2.  

Before adhering the panel to an A2 Card Base, I die cut the sentiment outline from the center of the panel. We won't see it when we layer the white panel over top.

Cut panel (4 x 5 1/2) from Neenah Solar White cardstock and embossed with the Luxurious Motifs 3D Embossing Folder.  The sentiment is die cut from Neenah Solar White card stock.

Added florals, sentiment and bling.
