Altenew Educator Certification Program: Clean and Simple Boutique Cards

Welcome to my Crafty Corner.  

I had to take a short break from crafting to move.  Have you ever packed up a craft room, moved, and unpacked?  The process took more time than expected but it was entirely worth the effort as I have a larger space to craft alone or with friends!

Today I am sharing cards I created for Altenew Academy's class "Clean and Simple Boutique Cards" class, offered by Jennifer Rzasa. Jennifer offered several tips and techniques to create beautiful cards.  

This class offered a great challenge for me as I am all about the coloring and ink blending. I learned that less, most certainly, can be more.

Here are the cards I am presenting for my class homework. 

CARD #1

Stamp set and dies:  Altenew Flutter & Bloom

Sentiment:  Garden Bouquet stamp/die

Altenew Brushed Gold Cardstock

Altenew Garden Trellis Cover Die

Altenew Gem Sparkles - Clear

WOW Embossing Powder - Metallic Gold Sparkle

White Embossing Powder

Navy Blue Cardstock

Vellum

Cut panel of Altenew Brushed Gold Cardstock and adhere to Altenew A2 card base.

Navy Blue Cardstock cut to 4 x 5 1/4.  I used the Garden Trellis Cover Die to emboss (rather than cut) the panel.

Stamped the small floral image with versamark onto vellum (pretreated with powder) and heat embossed with the gold embossing powder. Die cut image with coordinating die.  Cut a second image with brushed gold cardstock using the same die.

Fussy cut the stamped image close to the embossed image to allow the gold die cut peek out from underneath when layered.

Heat emboss the sentiment onto brushed gold cardstock with Versamark and white embossing powder.

Assemble the card as pictured.

CARD #2

Stamp set and dies:  Altenew Flutter & Bloom

Sentiment:  Garden Bouquet Stamp/Die

Altenew Brushed Gold Cardstock

Altenew Gem Sparkles - Clear

Altenew Antique Gold Pigment Ink

Altenew Luxurious Motifs 3D Embossing folder

WOW Embossing Powder - Metallic Gold Sparkle

Black Cardsrock

Ivory Soft Touch Cardstock (Sizzix)

Adhere panel of Altenew Brushed Gold Cardstock to an A2 Card Base.

Trim black cardstock to 4" x 5 1/4 and dry emboss with the 3D embossing folder. Gently swipe (direct to paper) the gold ink pad over top of the embossed panel to highlight the design and add interest.

Trim black card panel to 3" X 4"

Trim white panel to 2 7/8" to 3 7/8".

Treat white panel with anti static tool and stamp the small floral image with versamark. Heat emboss the image with gold embossing powder.

Stamp sentiment on black paper, treated with anti static tool.  Heat emboss the image.

Assemble card as pictured.
